Alpine is beautiful, but it is dangerous. Unlike Bermuda (which is flat) or Purgatory (which is separated by water), Alpine is defined by Verticality. There are huge mountains, elevated train tracks, and tall Japanese-style temples.
If you play Alpine like you play Bermuda, you will die. You need to look UP. Snipers dominate this map. Here is your complete guide to surviving the snowy peaks.
1. The “Railroad” Death Trap
Railroad is the “Peak” or “Clock Tower” of Alpine. It is the central hub where most squads land.
- The High Ground: There are two massive station platforms. Whoever controls the roof of the stations controls the area.
- The Danger: Do not run on the tracks below. You are an easy target for people on the roof.
- Strategy: If you land here, land ON the roof. Grab a weapon immediately. If you land on the ground floor, loot quickly and leave. Do not fight the roof team from below.

2. Sunside: The Best Rotation Spot
Sunside is my favorite drop. It has excellent loot density and, more importantly, it has options.
- It is close to the center but not too hot.
- It has plenty of cover (brick walls and buildings).
- From Sunside, you can easily rotate to Railroad or Militia depending on the zone.
3. The “Militia” Military Base
This area is wide open. It looks like a classic military base with hangars.
The Sniper’s Dream: The rooftops of the hangars are accessible via ramps. If you have an AC80 or SVD, sit on the hangar roof. You can see enemies rotating from the snowy mountains miles away.
Warning: If you are looting the central platform in Militia, you are visible from 360 degrees. Use Gloo Walls even when looting boxes.
4. Vertical Rotations (Ziplines vs Running)
Alpine has huge mountains. Running up a mountain is slow. You are a sitting duck.
The Rule: Always use Ziplines to go UP. Never run up a steep hill if you can avoid it. However, when going DOWN, you can slide-jump to move faster.
If you get caught at the bottom of a cliff and a squad is at the top, do not try to fight. You will lose the aim duel because they can headshot you easily while you can only hit their feet. Rotate around the mountain, not up it.

5. Weapon Loadout for Alpine
Because the map is so large and open, SMGs are less effective here than on Bermuda.
- Primary: Marksman Rifle (Woodpecker/AC80) or Sniper (M82B). You need range.
- Secondary: AR (SCAR/M4A1).
- Close Range: You might not even need a shotgun. Many players run Double AR or Sniper + AR on Alpine.
Conclusion
Alpine rewards patience and positioning. Don’t rush into open fields. Stick to the buildings, control the high ground, and always check the rooftops before you cross a street. Once you master the vertical angles, Alpine becomes a sniper’s paradise.
