Free Fire Revival System Guide: Vending Machine vs. Revival Points

In the old days of Free Fire, if you died, it was game over. You had to spectate your teammates for 15 minutes. But Garena introduced the Revival System, and it completely changed the meta of Squad Ranked matches. Now, a squad wipe isn’t the end—as long as one player survives.

However, reviving is dangerous. It alerts every enemy on the map to your location. Should you spend coins at a Vending Machine? Or should you risk your life at a Revival Point? This guide analyzes the risk vs. reward of bringing your friends back from the dead.

1. The Revival Point (The “Heart” Zone)

These are the designated zones marked on the map with a heart icon. To use them, you must stand inside the square for a specific duration (usually 15-20 seconds).

The Risk Factor: Extreme

When you step into a Revival Point, two things happen:

  • The Beam: A massive vertical light shoots up into the sky. Everyone in a 500-meter radius can see it.
  • The Map Icon: The heart icon on the mini-map turns yellow/red, telling enemies exactly where you are.
  • No Cover: Most revival points are in open fields (like the one between Pochinok and Factory). You are a sitting duck.

When to use it?

Only use Revival Points in the early game when you have Gloo Walls and a vehicle nearby. Never use them in the final zones; you will be spammed with grenades.

2. The Vending Machine (Revival Card)

This is the safer option, but it costs resources. You can buy a “Revival Card” for 400 Coins (price may vary by season).

The Advantages:

  • Instant: There is no waiting timer. You buy the card, and your teammate drops from the plane immediately.
  • Stealth: Unlike the Revival Point, using a vending machine does not shoot a giant beam of light into the sky. Nearby enemies might hear the machine noise, but distant enemies won’t know.
  • Portability: You can loot coins in a safe area and drive to a remote Vending Machine to revive.

The Economy Strategy

In Squads, designate one player as the “Bank.” If a fight looks bad, the Bank should run away. Don’t try to 1v4. Run, collect FF Coins, and go to a machine. It is better to have 1 survivor with coins than 4 dead heroes.

3. The “Bait” Strategy

Smart players use Revival Points as traps.

How to do it:

  1. Have one teammate stand in the Revival Point to trigger the beam.
  2. The other 3 teammates hide in nearby houses or behind trees.
  3. Enemies will see the light and rush to get the “easy kill” on the guy reviving.
  4. Your squad ambushes the rushing enemies.

This is a high-IQ play that turns a defensive mechanic into an offensive trap.

4. Character Synergy for Reviving

If you are the designated support/medic of the team, consider these characters:

  • Misha: If you plan to drive around collecting coins and visiting vending machines, Misha makes you harder to hit while driving.
  • K (Captain Booyah): If you are camping outside the zone to revive teammates safely, K allows you to survive the zone damage effortlessly.
  • Not Thiva/Dimitri: Note that Thiva and Dimitri help with knocked teammates, not dead ones. Do not confuse the two systems.

5. Where do Revived Players Spawn?

This is crucial. Revived players spawn in the sky above the location where the revival happened (or near the safe zone center if using a card). They parachute down with:

  • A G18 or USP (Pistol).
  • No Vest/Helmet.
  • No Gloo Walls.

Warning: If you revive your team in the middle of a fight, they are useless until they land and loot. Do not expect them to help you fight immediately. You need to protect them while they find a gun.

Conclusion

The Revival System prevents rage-quitting. Always prioritize FF Coins over weapon attachments in the early game. 400 Coins is the price of a second life. Keep an eye on the vending machine locations, and never give up until the “Revival Not Allowed” message appears in the final zone.
