We all love seeing “Bots” in our lobby. It’s free K/D ratio, free rank points, and free loot. But sometimes, what looks like a bot is actually a pro player baiting you.
Free Fire’s matchmaking algorithm fills lobbies with AI-controlled bots when:
- You are in a low rank (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
- You are on a losing streak (to help you win).
- You are playing at odd hours (3 AM) when real player counts are low.
Here is how to scientifically identify a bot and how to avoid the “Fake Bot” trap.
1. Movement Analysis
AI Bots have very specific movement coding:
- The Straight Line: Bots run in perfectly straight lines. They do not zig-zag.
- The Sudden Stop: A bot will run, stop instantly in the open, turn 90 degrees, and run again. Real players usually slide or jump when stopping.
- No Jumping: Bots rarely jump. They never jump-shoot.
- Obstacles: If a bot hits a wall, it will keep running into the wall for a second before turning.
2. Shooting Rhythm
Listen to the gunshots. A bot shoots differently.
- Single Tap: Even with an MP40, a bot will shoot one bullet… pause… one bullet.
- Instant Lock: A bot will lock onto you the moment you are visible, but they deal very little damage.
- No Gloo Walls: This is the biggest giveaway. A bot will NEVER place a Gloo Wall when you shoot it. It will just stand there and take the bullets.
3. The “Bot Loot” Delivery
Why hunt bots? For the loot. Garena programs bots to spawn with decent gear to help real players.
A typical bot usually carries:
- 1-2 Medkits.
- Level 2 Vest/Helmet.
- A generic weapon like M4A1 or UMP.
- Lots of SMG/AR ammo.
They almost never carry Sniper Rifles or Gloo Walls.
4. The Trap: “Bot Baiting”
This is a tactic used by high-IQ players. If I hear footsteps nearby, I might start walking slowly in a straight line, pretending to be a bot. I might even fire one random shot into the air.
The Trap: You see me, think “Oh, it’s a bot,” and you run straight at me without cover to get the easy kill. The moment you are in the open, I snap aim and headshot you.
How to avoid: Treat EVERY enemy like a real player until you are 100% sure. Always approach with cover. Never run straight at a “bot” without your finger on the Gloo Wall button.
Conclusion
Bots are a resource. Use them to charge your Active Skill (like Alok or Chrono) or to complete daily missions. But don’t get lazy. Killing 5 bots doesn’t mean you are ready for the final circle against real Grandmasters.
