Sniper Guide: AWM vs M82B (The Wall Hacker)

A good sniper changes the entire flow of a match. When you hear the thunderous sound of an AWM, everyone stops peeking. You force the enemy to hide.

But in Free Fire, sniping is different from other games. We have Gloo Walls. A standard sniper hits a wall and stops. That’s where the M82B (Barret) changed everything. Today, we compare the classic King (AWM) vs the Modern Beast (M82B).

1. The M82B (Barret): The Squad Wiper

The M82B is unique because it has Armor Penetration and Gloo Wall Penetration. It is the only gun in the game that can shoot through an ice wall.

  • Anti-Gloo Wall: It deals extra damage to Gloo Walls, destroying them faster.
  • Wall Bang: It can actually penetrate the wall and hit the enemy hiding behind it (with reduced damage). If an enemy is healing behind a wall, you can keep tagging them with the M82B. This causes panic.
  • Why Squads Use It: In a 4v4, there are Gloo Walls everywhere. The M82B clears the battlefield.

2. The AWM: The Damage King

Why use the AWM if the M82B exists? Simple: Raw Damage.

  • Body Shot: 150 damage (Level 1/2 Vest).
  • Headshot: Instant knockdown (Level 4 Helmet).

The AWM instills fear. One body shot leaves the enemy with 50 HP. They are forced to use a Medkit immediately. In Solo Rank, where Gloo Walls are less common than in Squads, the AWM is superior because it secures kills faster.

3. The “Double Sniper” Switch Trick

If you watch players like Pahadi or Born2Kill, they shoot snipers like machine guns. They don’t wait for the reload. How?

The Mechanic: Free Fire has a delay after shooting a sniper bolt. But if you switch weapons, that delay is cancelled.

The Settings: Go to settings and turn ON “Quick Weapon Switch”.

The Rhythm:

  1. Shoot (Right Thumb).
  2. Tap Quick Switch (Left Thumb).
  3. Shoot (Right Thumb).
  4. Tap Quick Switch (Left Thumb).

You need two snipers in your inventory for this (Double AWM or Double M82B). With practice, you can fire 2 shots in under 1 second.

4. The “No Scope” Crosshair Trick

Snipers don’t have a crosshair in the middle of the screen when not zoomed in. This makes hip-firing hard.

The “Pet Emote” Hack:

  1. Go to Custom HUD settings.
  2. Find the “Pet Emote” button (the paw icon).
  3. Drag it to the exact center of your screen (where the crosshair usually is).
  4. Make it very small and increase transparency.

Now you have a permanent custom crosshair in the middle of your screen. This helps you aim your sniper before you even open the scope.

Conclusion

Squad Ranked: Take the M82B. Breaking walls helps your rushers push.

Solo Ranked: Take the AWM. You need that 150 damage to end fights quickly before a third party arrives.
