Why do random squads lose? Because everyone wants to be the hero. Everyone rushes, everyone dies.
Professional teams (like Evos or Loud) win because they have Roles. Each player has a specific job. If you play with a regular group of friends, assigning roles will take you from Diamond to Master in one week. Here are the 4 standard roles.
1. The Rusher (The Entry Fragger)
This player is the tip of the spear. They go in first.
- Job: Break Gloo Walls, enter houses first, knock one enemy to start the fight.
- Required Skills: Insane close-range aim (M1887/MP40), fast Gloo Wall speed, fearlessness.
- Characters: Tatsuya, Alok, Hayato, Kelly.
- Loadout: Shotgun + SMG. (No Sniper).
2. The Sniper (Support)
This player stays back (20-30 meters behind the Rusher). They are the eyes of the team.
- Job: Provide cover fire. Deal massive damage with AWM/M82B so the Rusher can finish the kill. Break enemy Gloo Walls with M82B. Revive downed teammates.
- Required Skills: Patience, precision, good communication (“I hit him 150! Rush now!”).
- Characters: Iris, Skyler, Maro, Rafael.
- Loadout: Double Sniper or Sniper + AR.

3. The IGL (In-Game Leader)
The IGL is the brain. They might not have the most kills, but they win the game.
- Job: Making decisions. “Rotate to Peak now.” “Don’t fight them, let’s go to zone.” “Retreat!”
- Required Skills: Map awareness, zone prediction, calm voice.
- Characters: K (for survival), Clu (to scan enemies).
- Loadout: AR + Shotgun (Versatile).
Rule: When the IGL speaks, everyone listens. Even if it’s a bad call, following it together is better than splitting up.
4. The Flanker (The Ghost)
This is the riskiest role. While the team fights from the front, the Flanker takes a wide circle to hit the enemy from the side or back.
- Job: Surprise attack. Catch the enemy while they are focused on your teammates.
- Required Skills: Stealth, timing. If you flank too early, you die alone. If too late, your team dies.
- Characters: Wukong, Misha (Vehicle flank), Joseph.
How to Assign Roles
Look at your friends’ stats.
- High Headshot Rate? Rusher.
- High Survival Time? IGL.
- Likes AWMS? Sniper.
Stick to your roles. If the Sniper tries to rush a house with an AWM, you will lose. If the Rusher camps at the back, you will lose. Play your part.
Conclusion
A team of 4 average players with good coordination will always beat a team of 4 solo pros who don’t talk. Turn on your mic, assign roles, and dominate the lobby.
