Diamond IV is the “Elo Hell” of Free Fire. You get close to Heroic, and then you lose -50 points. You try again, and lose -30. It feels like the game is rigged against you.
It’s not. I’ve spectated hundreds of Diamond players. They all make the same 5 mistakes. They have good aim, but bad habits. Fix these 5 things, and you will hit Heroic in 24 hours.
1. Over-Looting (The “Loot Delivery” Syndrome)
Diamond players spend 15 minutes looting. They want a Level 3 Vest, Max Muzzle, Max Stock, and 10 Medkits before they fight.
The Mistake: While you are looting 3 towns, the enemy is getting kills, warming up their aim, and securing the best camping spot in the zone. When you finally rotate with your full bag, they kill you from a window. You basically acted as a delivery boy, bringing them loot.
The Fix: Loot one area. If you have a Level 2 Vest and a gun with 60 ammo, YOU ARE READY. Move to the zone.
2. Fighting Outside the Zone
You see an enemy running in the blue zone. You stop to fight him. The fight takes 2 minutes. The zone shrinks. You both die to the zone, or you enter the safe zone with 20 HP and get one-tapped by a gatekeeper.
The Fix: Zone Priority > Kills. If the zone is shrinking, IGNORE the enemy. Run. Get to safety first, then turn around and shoot.
3. “Saving” Gloo Walls
I see players die with 12 Gloo Walls in their bag. They thought, “I can just run to that tree, I don’t need to waste a wall.”
The Fix: If you take ONE bullet, place a wall. Don’t risk it. Walls are easy to find. Your life is not. Wasting a wall is better than losing 40 rank points.
4. Ego Peeking (Re-peeking Snipers)
An enemy sniper hits you for 100 damage. You heal. Then you peek the same window to try and headshot him.
The Mistake: He is already scoped in on that window. He has the advantage. He will kill you instantly.
The Fix: Never peek the same angle twice. If a sniper knows where you are, rotate. Change windows. Flank. Don’t challenge a scoped AWM with an MP40.
5. Playing with Randoms
You play Squad Ranked with auto-matchmaking. Your teammates land at Clock Tower, die instantly, and leave the game. You are left 1v4.
The Fix: If you don’t have friends online, play SOLO. In Solo, you are in control. If you die, it’s your fault. Relying on randoms in Diamond rank is gambling.
